Choosing a date range
Section titled “Choosing a date range”Use the date range selector at the top of the page to set the reporting period. All traffic and engagement metrics update to reflect the selected range.
Filtering by location
Section titled “Filtering by location”Use the location selector to view website data for a specific location or all locations. This is helpful when individual locations have separate landing pages or location-specific URLs.
Key metrics
Section titled “Key metrics”| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sessions | The number of individual visits to your site. A single user can generate multiple sessions. |
| Users | The number of unique visitors to your site during the selected period. |
| Pageviews | The total number of pages viewed. Includes repeated views of the same page. |
| Bounce Rate | The percentage of sessions where the visitor left without interacting beyond the initial page. Calculated on-the-fly from session data. A lower bounce rate generally indicates more engaging content. |
| Engagement Metrics | Additional GA4 engagement data such as engaged sessions, engagement rate, and average engagement time. |
Reading the data
Section titled “Reading the data”Look at sessions and users together to understand visit frequency. If sessions grow faster than users, your existing visitors are returning more often.
A high pageview count relative to sessions suggests visitors are browsing multiple pages per visit, which typically signals strong engagement.
